The New Jersey State Youth Orchestra (NJSYO) was established to provide outstanding music instruction and performance opportunities to young people, especially to the under-served residents of Monmouth and Ocean counties. Founded in 1972 as a youth education initiative of the New Jersey State Orchestra, the NJSYO struck out on its own in 1977 and is now one of the few independent, community-based youth orchestras in the United States.  As a grassroots organization, we strongly believe in delivering quality music education at an affordable cost as well as creating a musical home for our students.  The performing arts have always been important fixtures in our community, but the current challenges have greatly limited performing arts opportunities for young people throughout the nation.  With the support of our faculty, students, and families, we have re-imagined and re-invented ourselves to keep the music going for our dedicated young musicians. We especially need your support  now in order to continue this important work.
